Airgun

Airgun Overview

All air guns must not exceed 45 FPE & 25 caliber on the Air Gun range.  All WWCCA range rules apply on the Air Gun range.  Eye protection is required.

Fun Shoots:  Held on the Air Gun range the fun shoots have something for everyone.  Open to members and non-members.  If you have an RWS, Beeman, Gamo, Daisy, Crosman or any other brand of air rifle or pistol that shoots lead pellets we encourage you to attend.  Our fun shoot course is set up with metallic silhouettes of chickens at 20 yards, pigs at 30 yards, turkeys at 36 yards, and rams at 45 yards for your scoped rifle.  Falling disks are set up at 10 yards for your air pistol and at 15 yards for your open sight air rifle.  Spinners and paper targets are also set up for sighting in or for just plain fun.  We will also have a 20 shot course for the field target shooters.  Club rifles will be available including rifles sized for youth shooters to adults.  All participating shooters are requested to assist in dismantling of the range.

Field Target MatchesOpen to members and non-members.  All matches are scheduled for 60 shots over the course of fire.  The match will typically be held on the Air Gun Walk Thru range.  A 20 FPE limit is imposed for our field target events.  WWCCA and the AAFTA (American Air Gun Field Target Association) rules apply to all scheduled field target events.  All participating shooters are required to assist in dismantling the range.

Your gun must always be pointed in a safe direction.  Never load your gun until you’re ready to shoot. Never put your finger on the trigger until you are on target and you are ready to shoot.  When shooting from an offhand position you must bring your gun up from a 45 degree ready position.  Never bring your rifle down to the target.

Pre charged guns must have the bolt unlatched, not necessarily cocked but that it may be seen easily that it is in a safe condition.  Upper lever and side cocking spring guns must have the cocking lever unlatched.  Break barrel guns must have the barrel in the unlatched position.  When cocking your spring gun you must hold on to your cocking lever or barrel as you are loading your gun.  They do have a mechanical safety that will protect you but as with any mechanical device it is prone to failure.  We don’t want you to hurt or lose a finger.  When you transport your guns to the range they must be in a case.  Also when you transport them to the Field target range they must be cased.

No one may cross the red firing line for any reason unless a cold line has been called. When a cold line is called you must make your gun safe by unloading it and put it in a case or place it in a safe position behind the yellow safety line. No one may handle any gun when the line is in a cold or safe condition.

WWCCA has a 45 foot pound limit on our Air Gun range. We are an AAFTA affiliated club and the 20 foot pound AAFTA match rules apply to our Field Target events.
